HOW TO GET INVOLVED
New members are welcome at Modesto Rotary Club. Membership
is by invitation only and requires nomination and sponsorship
by a current club member in good standing. If you are interested
in joining Modesto Rotary Club and don't know a Rotarian, please
contact us at (209) 578-9999.
Those considering membership in Modesto Rotary Club should
attend a meeting at the invitation of a member. This important
first step introduces potential members to Rotarians and provides
a first-hand look at club projects and activities.
When invited to join, the candidate receives an application
package that explains dues, contributions to the Club's fundraising
campaigns, the responsibilities and expectations of membership,
along with other information about Rotary International and
Modesto Rotary Club.
The candidate submits their application, which is reviewed
by the Membership Committee and the Board of Directors for
approval. Once approved, the Club office notifies the new member
sponsor and invites the new member to complete the process,
including payment of initiation fees and dues and participation
in the club orientation. Upon completion of this process, the
new member is formally introduced to the membership by the
President and their Sponsor at a regular Tuesday lunch meeting.
COG COMMITTEE
When new members join Modesto Rotary Club, they are automatically
enrolled in the COG Committee, which is an orientation program
to help them assimilate into the club and learn about activities,
committees and programs. The COG Committee meets once a month.
The Club requires that new members participate in at least
eight COG meetings during their first 16 months of membership.
